Selection & Prizes
There will be two sets of judging panels: one consisting of internal Scape developers who will review the initial pitches and filter down to the top 5 teams and games, and another all star panel consisting of Scape team members as well as game industry veterans will be part of the final selection process. If no submission meets Scape’s standards, we reserve the right to not enter into a development contract. In this case, the top three teams will each receive €1,000.
The following criteria will be taken into account with the judging panel:

Originality

Up to €30,000 in funding

Legal & Ownership
Yes. You retain full IP ownership of your game.
Yes. The selected game will be exclusive to Scape for six months after release. After that, you may publish elsewhere.
Development Details
Your pitch needs to include the development timeline and cost associated with the project. That development timeline will dictate how long the project will take to make as well as the cost. Please note that since you will be using our development tools and editor to make your game, there are many things your team won't need to develop or do, such as the character controller or the animations.
No audio is required for the initial March 1st pitch. We only need to see the gameplay mechanics and vision. Audio is required for the final game.
Yes. You may use third-party assets as long as you have the appropriate commercial licenses and comply with all copyright and usage terms. All assets used must be legally obtained and compatible with Scape’s platform requirements.
Started: Yes. If you have a prototype on your hard drive that fits the brief, we’d love to see it. Released: Generally, no. We are looking to fund a project to launch on the Scape platform. If it’s already live on Steam, it likely doesn't fit the "Development Funding" model unless you are pivoting it significantly.
Scape uses blockchain technology behind the scenes to manage item ownership. Players log in normally, and games are built using Unity, no Web3 knowledge required.
